After you’ve checked out our site, we’d love for you to come by and see the daily goins’ ons at our quirky handmade tile studio in the sticks of southern New Hampshire. If goofy dogs, cool tile, and an eclectic group of former interior designers, high end tile sales consultants, and art school dropouts having fun making tile, and often times experimenting with all things awesome is your thing, then our blog will be right up your alley. Even if its not, it’s a fun way to look into the magical world of handmade tile.

Installation Photos: A Closer Look

Hey, everyone!

In our previous Wet Dog Blog posts we shared some new installation photos that were added to the Photos and Ideas page on our website. Today we'd like to take a closer look at a couple of those photos and go behind the scenes to show a special part of the mural-making process!

Part of the our design process for custom projects like these includes having our artists create a detailed, scaled concept drawing, specifying the glazes colors and mosaic textures to be used. Not only does it give the client an idea of the final product, but it also aids as a template for our artists during the layout process. Check out the progression from sketch to final installations below!

You can see with the photos above that our artists are able to create a sketch that, if there are no revisions, is near identical to the final product! With the correct measurements provided by the customer we were able to create a custom mural that perfectly fit into the desired space - this one has an arched top!

This project was a little more involved! For this shower installation our artists created a sketch showing how the design would wrap each surface. We're super excited to see the final installation photo because projects with multiple surfaces are always hard to envision while laying the pieces out initially!

Is this something you'd like to see more of? We love seeing the "before" and after photos and would love to share more if you're interested! In the meantime, check out the Photos & Ideas page on our website for more installation photos - it's updated regularly! Have a great weekend, everyone!
