After you’ve checked out our site, we’d love for you to come by and see the daily goins’ ons at our quirky handmade tile studio in the sticks of southern New Hampshire. If goofy dogs, cool tile, and an eclectic group of former interior designers, high end tile sales consultants, and art school dropouts having fun making tile, and often times experimenting with all things awesome is your thing, then our blog will be right up your alley. Even if its not, it’s a fun way to look into the magical world of handmade tile.

Previously on the Wet Dog Blog...

Previously on the Wet Dog Blog we posted an entry showing the beginning process of making a new large-format piece (Click here for post)

Because no other tile company has done this before, we must do all the experimenting ourselves!

After testing clay sizing, we started sculpting the actual pieces.

Using the photo above as a reference, one of our artists sculpted the binding you see below.

It's hard turning a 3D object into a rather flat tile, all the while still having it look real and organic. We think it's turning out pretty well so far!
